Quality, Safety, Injury Prevention Committee

The QSIP Committee focuses on expanding injury prevention in the state /community from primary prevention to secondary prevention at the stretcher side.  The goal is to have every emergency nurse integrate prevention into their everyday practice with each patient and family encounter.

The Illinois ENA council is committed to:

• Promote quality, safety, and injury prevention efforts be integrated into everyday nursing practice.
• Make available to every emergency department nurse in the state, evidenced-based injury prevention interventions.
• Create, maintain or expand quality, safety, and injury prevention efforts in the community that the emergency department serves.  Assist in emergency nurses become QSIP leaders within their institutions and communities.

Child Passenger Safety

Illinois Car Seat Law:

Illinois requires that all children under the age of eight who are being transported in a motor vehicle must be properly restrained in an appropriate child restraint system, EVERY TRIP, EVERY TIME.
