Nicholas Nelson, MS, RN, CEN, CPEN, CCRN, CPN, TNS, NRP was recognized as one of the 40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders in Illinois. The Illinois Nurses Foundation and the Illinois Healthcare Action Coalition sponsors the 40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader award. Nick was recognized at a special event on September 17, 2015, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Nick is 2015-2016 the President-Elect for the Illinois Emergency Nurses Association. He has previously served the State Council as the 2013-2014 Secretary, 2013 Immediate Past Treasurer, and 2011-2012 Treasurer. In addition, Nick currently serves on the Spring Symposium, Communications and Education Committees.
Thelma Kuska nominated Nick for this award, and a group of his peers chose to recognize his leadership in the nursing profession.

40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders Award 2015
Illinois ENA member Vicki Keough, PhD, APRN-BC, ACNP, FAAN, was honored with the prestigious Judith C. Kelleher Award from the Emergency Nurses Association during the Anita Dorr Memorial Lecture and Luncheon on October 8 and during the Annual Awards Gala on October 11 at the ENA Annual Conference 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
This award, named after one of ENA’s co-founders, honors a member of ENA who has consistently demonstrated excellence in emergency nursing and has made significant contributions to the profession and to ENA. The Judith C. Kelleher Award is the highest award bestowed upon a member by ENA.

ENA 2014 Annual Awards Recipients
Illinois ENA member and 2011-2012 Illinois State Council President Steve Stapleton, PhD, RN, CEN, FAEN, was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nurses Association during the Annual Awards Gala on October 11 at the ENA Annual Conference 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Academy of Emergency Nurses honors emergency nurses who have made enduring, substantial contributions to emergency nursing, who advance the profession of emergency nursing and provide visionary leadership to ENA and AEN. Congratulations, Dr. Stapleton!
